PAST PROJECTS
IMMERSIVE PROJECT
The Immersive Project is a specialized exhibition genre which creates the illusion of time and place by representing key characteristics of a reference world and by integrating the visitor in this three-dimensionally reconstructed world. Crossing Collective has been working with various designers to create different immersive experiences, including interactive exhibitions, digital installation, educational programs and workshops at the gallery space.
Punk Forest Heartbeat Suzhou
Punk Forest Heartbeat Suzhouis an exhibition that is composed of two main areas: "Boundless Territory" and "Reshaping Symbiosis." The "Boundless Territory" is represented through three dragon-shaped mechanical art installations in the cyber forest. These works are created by Chinese-American artist David Han, who reshapes discarded, recycled metal and gives them new life. In his creations, the coldness of metal is solemnly combined with the mystery of future technology. The "Reshaping Symbiosis" is the idea that the concrete depiction of the real world has been the core theme in the development of humanistic art since ancient times. As thoughts return from the natural wilderness, artists' exquisite techniques and vivid portrayals enter an exhilarating arena of creative craftsmanship.
DESIGN PROJECT
The Design Project is an intersection of art and design by representing the works of emerging and established artists and designers. We collaborate with brand name hotels, corporate offices, and luxury condominiums for pop-up exhibitions. We also partner with brands and private institutions to bring them a new breed of potential clients and offering one-of-a-kind art experiences to new audiences.
HERITAGE PROJECT
The Heritage Project is an initiative that aims to integrate traditional Asian craft with contemporary art and design. There is currently a gap between traditional craftsmanship and the aesthetics and needs of contemporary society. In many cases, these intangible assets have diminished in relevance today and continue to declined in practice. Since the second half of the 20th century, the protection of intangible cultural heritage has gradually become an international issue. In October of 2003, UNESCO adopted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage at the 23rd General Assembly, which made the protection of intangibles the basis of international law. The purpose of this project is to promote the intangible cultural heritage under the concept of protection and inheritance, and to create a platform to promote the cross-border cooperation between intangible cultural heritage, design.
