"When I paint, I enter a world where inspiration, imagination, and emotion become one. It is a feeling of absolute freedom and joy. This is my euphoria."
Alexander Solotzew
We are pleased to present EUPHORIA, a solo exhibition of paintings by internationally renowned artist Alexander Solotzew, whose distinctive artistic vision transforms color, form, and composition into a powerful celebration of life.
Alexander Solotzew is a German artist of Russian origin, educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, one of Europe's renowned institutions of classical art education. His rigorous academic training became the foundation for an artistic journey that would lead him toward an unmistakably individual style.
Over decades of creative exploration, Solotzew has refined his artistic language to a remarkable level of individuality. His paintings are immediately recognizable through their diamond-like palette and bold, sweeping brushstrokes, often arranged in a spiral that culminates at the center of the composition.
His artistic practice combines the discipline of classical training with a highly individual approach to contemporary painting. Through expressive brushwork, luminous color, and dynamic compositions, Solotzew has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in imagination, emotion, and a profound celebration of life.
Yet beyond technique lies the true essence of his work: an extraordinary imagination and an instinctive understanding of the emotional power of color. Above all, it is the artist's unmistakable joie de vivre — his exuberant love of life — that captivates the audience and gives his paintings their extraordinary emotional resonance.
EUPHORIA is a state of inspiration reflecting the artist's inner world and the exhilaration he experiences during the painting process. For Solotzew, artistic creation is not merely an act of expression but a state of emotional and spiritual elevation.
Presented in the heart of Chelsea, one of New York City's most celebrated contemporary art districts, EUPHORIA will feature a carefully curated selection of 30 works, including 20 original oil paintings on canvas, mixed-media and graphic artworks. Together, these works offer a compelling exploration of Solotzew's artistic versatility, inviting collectors, art enthusiasts, and the public to experience the singular visual universe of this unique Artist.
