1994 Maryland-born Erica Mao is an artist living and working in New York City best known for her multi-layered, magical paintings that play with the mind’s ability to remain stable in a single reality. Mao attended Parsons School of Design and received her BFA in 2016. She has recently completed her MFA in Visual Arts at Columbia University. Mao has exhibited in galleries such as the International Print Center New York, Madison Park Gallery and Rachel Uffner Gallery. Awards include a Keyholder Residency at Lower East Side Printshop, the Leroy and Janet Neiman Award at the Leroy Neiman Center for Print Studies, and the Glasier Fellowship at Columbia University.
